A BOWIE CELEBRATION // SATURDAY 6th FEBRUARY
We lost a true inspiration to many of us earlier this week. Here at Esquires, we wanted to do something extra special to honour the life of David Bowie, with an evening of all things Bowie over two rooms, planned for the first Saturday of February.

Room 1: Esquires Bar – The Big Bowie Jam with Mat Roberts & Friends.
We invite you to perform a Bowie track in your own style – Mat Roberts will be putting together the line up for a whole evening of Bowie covers. To get involved, either contact Mat, or post the track you’d like to perform on the event page below and we’ll be in touch.
This ‘Jam’, will be a whole evening of live music, mixed with a special DJ Set curated by Pete Burridge, starting from 6pm, and going through until every artist has performed.
Room 2: Holy Moly’s – Leah Kardos presents The Music Legacies Of David Bowie, and Bedford Film Festival presents Labyrinth + Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders from Mars.
In our second room we have very special guest speaker, and self confessed Bowie fanatic Leah Kardos giving a 30-40 minute talk of The Music Legacies Of David Bowie. Expect an insightful and interesting talk and discussion about Ziggy, The Thin White Duke, Major Tom and beyond. Leah will also be discussing his final album Blackstar.
We have also joined up with Bedford Film Festival to show the cult classic Labyrinth, as well as live footage from Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders from Mars as an extra Bowie bonus too.
Line up:
Labyrith: 7pm – 8.40pm
Leah Kardos: 9pm – 9.40pm
Ziggy Stardust & The Spider From Mars: 10pm – 11pm
If you would like to watch Labyrinth another time, or within a more family friendly environment, there will be a second screening at The Quarry Theatre on Thursday 18th February – More details coming soon.
