To celebrate Independent Venue Week we are beyond excited to confirm that the very excellent AMBER ARCADES will be playing Bedford Esquires on Monday the 23rd of January 2017.
Responsible for one of the best albums of 2016, and signed to our favourite independent label, Heavenly Recordings, Amber Arcades is the moniker of dutch born musician Annelotte de Graaf.
Much loved by BBC 6Music, Amber Arcades debut album, Fading Lines, was released in June to universal acclaim. A shimmering mix of indie pop, krautrock and shoegaze, it saw Amber Arcades compared to such luminaries as Beach House, Stereolab and The Cocteau Twins and was a firm favourite here at Esquires HQ.
‘A remarkable record that simply demands your attention’ – Drowned in Sound 10/10.
‘Blissful, elegant records like this do not come about by chance’.
The Skinny 5/5
‘There’s a winning mix of mist and muscle on this debut’
Uncut 8/10
Album of the Year – Rough Trade / Piccadilly Records / Resident Records.
The gig will take place during independent venue week, a celebration of independently run venues across the UK which this year is being curated by a previous visitor to Esquires, Tim Burgess.
Tickets are £8 in advance, available now from http://www.seetickets.com and shortly from Esquires Bar and Mario’s Hair Design, Kempston.
Support on the night will be provided by the hotly tipped Hunck, and their glorious brand of psychedelic pop. Amazing scenes!
