Ezra Furman & The Boyfriends + Hannah Lou Clarke

Roar Club & Club Biscuit are delighted to announce that the stupendously brilliant Ezra Furman will be playing Bedford Esquires on Monday the 13th July 2015.

We fell in love with Ezra when he completely stole the show at last years End of the Road Festival. His live show is everything you could want from a band – in equal parts joyous, heartbreaking and life affirming. The Guardian recently described him ‘as the most compelling live act you can see right now’ and we are certainly not going to disagree!

‘Perpetual Motion People’, his forthcoming album on Bella Union records, is likely to catapult the Chicago Born singer-songwriter into the major league and we are so excited that he has agreed to play Bedford. You may have seen him recently on BBC 2’s ‘Later’ or heard the singles ‘My Zero’, ‘Restless Year’ and ‘Lousy Connection’ on Six Music but, backed by his kick ass band, nothing will prepare for just how incredible he is live. Part Jonathan Richman, part Springsteen, part Marty McFly, Ezra is a unique talent who will completely steal your heart.

If that’s not enough, support on the night will come from the superb Hannah Lou Clark, who returns to Esquires after impressing so much recently whilst supporting Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore. Definitely one to watch, especially for fans of PJ Harvey and St. Vincent.
