North London outfit Fake Turins explore the psychedelic strut of New York City in the 70’s, using their strength in numbers to provide an immersive experience, the 11-piece unit explore noise, disco and funk through an unrelenting groove.
Fake Turins have been tipped across the board by press, summed up by So Young Magazine as, “lyrically subversive yet audibly untouchable”, with DIY noting their “cyclical, propulsive dancefloor groove”, and by CLASH as, “a truly multi-faceted piece of music [that] feels like the entry point into Fake Turins’ extraordinary world.” Radio support from Steve Lamacq (BBC 6Music), Gemma Bradley (BBC Radio 1), John Kennedy (Radio X) and Amazing Radio on both sides of the Atlantic has seen the band’s stock rise.
The band were longlisted for Glastonbury Emerging Talent, played their first two festivals abroad in Left Of The Dial and Klomppop and released a string of well-received singles and their debut EP entitled ‘Time Flowers Now’ – a remix EP followed with a stand out mix by Leo Zero of live favourite ‘Down!’.
Following three back-to-back sold out London headline shows, including a 350 cap warehouse show at Electrowerkz, the band will embark on their first UK headline tour in 2022 alongside festival slots at This Must Be The Place, Manchester Psych Fest, Float Along, and Rockaway Beach.
