Independent Venue Week is a celebration of the UK’s small independently run music venues. Venue that give artists their first experience of playing live in front of an audience. Venues that give fans somewhere to get up close to artists that one day may well be playing stadiums. Venues like Bedford Esquires.
In association with Independent Venue Week and Club Biscuit, we are pleased to confirm that Frankie & The Heartstrings will be playing Bedford Esquires on Monday the 26th January 2015.
A riotous explosion of unabashed indie pop, Frankie & The Heartstrings have supported the likes of the Vaccines and the Kaiser Chiefs and played Glastonbury, Reading / Leeds et al. You’ve almost certainly heard their bona fide smash hit ‘Hunger’, probably on the Inbetweeners soundtrack.
A band in thrall to the magic of music, they’ve opened their own record shop in their native Sunderland and recorded with the likes of Edwyn Collins (Orange Juice), Bernard Butler (Suede), Ryan Jarman (The Cribs) and currently feature Ross Millard of the Futureheads on guitar. Heartbreaking ballads or frantic floor fillers – Frankie & the Heartstrings have got the lot.
But there’s more. Us lot at Esquires know that money can be tight during January – you’ve spunked it all on Christmas and payday seems like a little dot in the distance. But fear not, tickets for this gig are just £2 in advance (yes £2!!) available from http://www.seetickets.com. What else can you get for £2 these days? That’s a brilliant night out, for less than the price of a tube of Pringles. See you down the front.
