Mad Mods & Englishmen
‘Unfinished Business!’
Live at Bedford Esquires, 8pm, Friday 4th November
Rewind back to August 13th and Mad Mods & Englishmen are full flow into their set at Bedford Esquires when drummer Spence was taken ill and the gig was called to a halt before the band even reached their half way point. The band promised to return in the near future as after all they have some ‘unfinished business’ with all the Bedford crowd that showed up and paid their money that evening.
In the words of Ray the bands frontman:
A massive thanks to everyone at Esquires last night for your patience and understanding. Such a shame as I felt we were smashing it and the audience were absolutely fantastic. We will come back later in year and do a free show so you can all get to see us do the whole thing. Xx
The date has now been set and the band will return triumphantly to the main stage at Bedford Esquires on Friday 4th November for a FREE show for all those that attendance that evening. We don’t expect you to still have your handstamp or ticket from the night so it’s an honesty policy for all attending, if you came along on the night back in August then let us know on the door and you will get in for FREE. If you didn’t make it along then we are will be selling tickets in advance via see-tickets and you can also pay on the door
Anyone that has seen the ‘Mad Mods’ live will tell you that they are no traditional covers band. Their energetic performances have built them a massive following and they have a reputation of packing every venue they play at, and then bringing the house down!
Their repertoire includes hits from The Who, Small Faces, The Kinks, Rolling Stones, Spencer Davis, Yardbirds, The Jam and many more, and yes, they’ve even been known to smash the odd guitar up on stage!
The band will be playing 2 sets with no support on the night, doors open at 8pm with the band hitting the stage around 8.30pm.
“These guys are as good a feel-good band as you’ll experience. Just make sure you do experience them”
Chris Hawkins – BBC 6 Music
