We are absolutely delighted to confirm that STEREOLAB (yes, Stereolab!) will be appearing at Bedford Esquires on Wednesday the 1st of September 2021 for a very special ‘warm up’ gig prior to their headlining appearances at the End of the Road and Manchester Psych Festivals.
Easily one of most innovative and influential bands of last three decades, Stereolab pioneered a unique blend of motorik rock, avant pop, electronica and fuzzy ’60s melodies across a series of highly acclaimed albums to create absolute classics like ‘French Disko’, ‘Ping Pong’ and ‘Metronomic Underground’.
Led by Laetitia Sadier and Tim Gane, Stereolab reformed in 2019 after a 10 year hiatus to play the Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona and subsequently embarked on a rapturously received world tour.
Having originally appeared at Esquires way back in September 1993, Stereolab very kindly agreed to return to Bedford as part of the venues’ 30th anniversary celebrations which were due to take place in 2020. Although these celebrations were cancelled for obvious reasons, we are extremely grateful that the band have agreed to honour this commitment for what will be an amazing evening.
Tickets are on sale from 10am Friday the 13th of August from Seetickets with a very limited number of physical tickets available (with no booking fee) directly from Esquires and Slide Record Shop.
Very special support on the evening will be provided by Andy Bell, performing for the very first time as Andy Bell Space Station. Expect improvised psychedelia and cosmic electronics.
Please do not buy tickets from any other outlet. Anyone found re-selling tickets for profit will have their order cancelled.
