The Dirty Strangers
Carrying a torch for rootsy Rock’N’Roll as invented by Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent & Chuck Berry, but laced with a little bit of Otis Redding Soul and a side order of Punk attitude. Arresting & Seductive, Its Dirty Rock’N’Roll & you’ll like it.
The Brutalists
The Brutalists are dirty, nasty people who play music that fits into the Brutalist ideal: rough hewn, ugly and cheap. They are inspired by Brutalist architecture, which blossomed in the sixties and seventies, at the point where governments and civic organizations began putting cost before the comfort and mental well-being of their citizens.
The music that grew up around these developments forms the core of the Brutalists’ style —the dirty, leering, amphetamine blues of pub rock, the urgency of first-generation punk and the synthesized dance ennui of post-punk, all seasoned with bits of ska and reggae.
The band members are: guitarist Mick Cripps, lead vocalist Nigel Mogg, guitarist/vocalist Kent Holmes, bassist Luke Bossendorfer and vocalist/drummer Charlie Nice.
They perform regularly in the greater Los Angeles area and throughout California.
THE BRUTALISTS signed to Cleopatra Records in November 2017 and their eponymous debut album was released in August 2018. Their second album, “We are NOT here to help” will be released in August 2019.
