Following their sell out performance at Esquires in July 2015, The Roar Club & Club Biscuit are pleased to confirm that The Smyths will return in 2016 for a very special celebration of one of the finest albums of all time…
More than a mere tribute band, The Smyths are a joyous celebration of the greatest band of a generation. Thrillingly accurate, the group have amassed a huge following and regularly play to packed out venues both here and abroad. You may also know them from their massively popular Sunday morning slot at the Glastonbury Festival.
2016 will be the 30th anniversary of the release of The Smiths third studio album and their magnus opus – ‘The Queen is Dead’. In celebration, The Smyths will be playing the album in full – ‘There is a Light That Never Goes Out’, ‘Bigmouth Strikes Again’, ‘I Know it’s Over’ etc. In fact, with the album orginally released on the 16th June 1986, the gig in Bedford will very much be a 30th anniversary show!
Tickets are £12.50 in advance, available from http://www.seetickets.com / http://www.wegotickets.com and Danny’s Bar, Planet Boutique & Mario’s Hair Design in Kempston.
No support – The Smyths will play two sets, one comprising of The Queen is Dead in it entirety and another of other singles, classics, b-sides and the songs that saved your life…
